Behind the Chair with Ava

Something you learn quickly in the hair industry: everyone has a story to tell. Aside from keeping your hair 💯 we get to learn more about our clients at every appointment.

Through the Rundown we want you to get to know us. In this series we give you a glimpse of what life is like ‘Behind the Chair.’

This month, meet Ava.

She is a double threat of talent, at the top of her hair and makeup game.

What made you want to become a hairstylist?

Watching beauty influencers on YouTube/ being a YouTube kid made me love the cosmetic industry. I was always in the mirror trying hairstyles or walking to CVS to spend my money on new products I saw in these videos. I have 2 girly older sisters that were always doing hair and makeup so it was just a natural part of my everyday life.

What does a perfect day off look like?

Spending time with my 2 nieces and nephew. They don’t give me much of an option. My phone is ringing bright and early on my mornings off asking for me to come hangout. When I am done being an Aunt I love spending time with Louis living our childless lives while we are young.

What makes working at revive different?

The fact that all of us are genuinely friends. We all get along and want to hangout after work. We are all invested in each others lives.

What product do you keep buying over and over again?

Two faced born this way concealer. It’s full coverage, good color selection, matte, but not cakey and long wearing.

Favorite place to eat?

Anywhere with a good crab cake.

What’s something you can’t live without?

My AirPod max headphones.

If you weren’t a hairstylist, what would you be?

I’m honestly not sure, but most likely would have gone to college because I was a good student. I called the tech school the second I got into high school because I knew it’s what I wanted. I don’t even remember a time where it’s not what I wanted to do.

Ava’s style in three words:

1. Emo

2. Colorless

3. Baggy/Relaxed/Effortless

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Married, 2 kids, working part time (sorry), and in house of our own.

Fun Facts:

-I’m still dating my high school sweetheart (7 years).

-I have never died my hair a different color. I find that to be shocking since I am a hairstylist.
