Fall is here! Delco natives will surely take our yearly trip to Linvilla for Pumpkin Land. If you’re looking for a new adventure or just something different this year - this list is for you.
These are the best local activities to add to your fall calendar and where to find them.
This place is a hidden gem right at our back door. 7 days a week ride a tractor-drawn wagon out to the pumpkin patch. You can spend as long as you want selecting the perfect pumpkins for every member of the family. There are beautiful sunflower fields perfect for photo ops, a country store, bonfires and farm fresh produce.
This 5 acre corn maze celebrates life on the farm and includes a virtual scavenger hunt. Fall activities are in abundance here including a pumpkin garden, hayrides, pillow bounce, mini golf, pedal cars and more. This is also home to the very popular haunted attraction: The Bates Motel.
This activity does NOT include kids. Adult Trick or Treat is a one-of-a-kind, walking tour lead by a knowledgeable Chaddsford Wine Guide. During the journey, you will visit five Halloween-themed pairing stations, receiving wine tips and pairing notes along the way. Bonus- you’ll get a halloween wine glass to take home!
This orchard grows crops on over 200 acres, best of all is their apple selection. There are as many as 12 varieties to pick at a time! Aside from great pick-your-own, the farm market and bakery is home to their ‘Best of Philly’ Apple Cider Donuts. Many more family activities can be found at this farm including pumpkin picking, hayrides, a corn maze and apple cannons.
This place has it all. Browse their website for fall fest activities and you’ll find something day or night for the whole family. Shady Brook farm has everything from picking apples & sunflowers, pumpkins, wagon rides, LIVE music, tasty food, spirited drinks, barn of horror + Eerie Illuminations...a super fun Halloween light show.
Manoff Market Gardens, located in scenic Bucks County, grows all the fruit used to produce their “hard” Cider. They make a dry, sparkling cider with no sugar added. Many of the ciders are naturally gluten free and all are matured in wood for 1 year. There is outdoor seating with the orchard in view. Flights, Bottles and snacks are available during Cidery hours. Seating is outdoors, first come, first served. You can bring your own lawn chair, lunch, and/or dinner.
Wind through tall, dark hedges and brace yourself. Plenty of scares await as you ride through the haunted woods full of monsters. This is not recommended for children under 8. There is an option for children and families who want a mild scare: the night hayride. This takes you though the woods with eerie lights and a few monsters. Colonial Gardens has plenty of activities appropriate for all ages including a cornstalk maze, halloween funhouse and caspers castle.
